Niaouli essential oil (also known as MQV) is, according to Dr. Kurt Schnaubelt, the most important anti-allergenic essential oil in aromatherapy. Niaouli is a powerful antibacterial and antiseptic; is is valuable for general skin problems, and can be used undiluted without risk. Niaouli can stimulate the defense mechanisms of the body - 5 to 20 drops can be rubbed into the skin over the whole body after a morning shower to promote this effect. It can be used in a diffuser to bring alertness, and can also be used in culinary creations. It does have high menthol content.
